    It looks like Google is adding another device to its Nexus lineup, though the company has been having a hard time keeping it under wraps, with the most recent ousting of the smartphone appearing on the company's own social networking site, Google+.

    Actually, it is possible that Nexus 4 simply indicates the 4th Nexus Smartphone, not screen size. Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and... Nexus 4.

    Personally I think it is more probable that Nexus 4 is an indication of screen size, after Nexus 7. One of the rumors going around is that the HTC phablet might be called Nexus 5, and a 10" tablet will be called Nexus 10. Given the range of products the Nexus is turning to be, I think its reasonable the numbers are for size differentiation. The rumored Nexus X (Sony Xperia Nexus) does appear to buck that, with the X standing for Xperia.
