Re: Nokia Launches Free Music Streaming Service Discussion
I can't help but be wary from the my experiences in the old days with OVI. Almost all Nokia attempts to become a services provider have been unmitigated disasters. The exception is their mapping service, but there they simply acquired a company that knew how to do it and there was a lot more room for doing it better than anyone else. I hope they really do come up with something worthwhile, but I can't help thinking that simply working out a licensing deal with Microsoft for Zune, since that is their ecosystem now anyway, would have been a better use of resources. If they offered an elite Zune experience for free or at a discount, that would be a strong selling point.
However, I'll wait and see. I still have great affection for Nokia (though not OVI) and really would like them to succeed.Hook's Stories
