Default Samsung Goes Big with Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Player 5.8 Discussion

The Player screen is bigger, the Note II screen is smaller than the current Note and is going to lose resolution for those it matters to, 16:9 has been great for OEM's [particularly on notebooks and monitors] and manufacturers where they get to quote bigger diagonal sizes while actually giving less screen.

I like the design where they put the ear and speaker phones at the top and bottom corner of the bezels in the Player. I hope they do that on the Note 2.

Weegie, I'm confused (certainly not the first time) Ed Hardy wrote, "It will be upgrades in a number of ways, not just a larger display." but yet you stated that the screen is smaller? What am I missing?

According to what has leaked out about the Note II, the device will have a 5.5-inch screen. The original has a 5.3-inch one. However, the resolution will supposedly be lower: 1280 x 720 while the current one has a 1280 x 800 display.

Plus the area, a 16:9 aspect 5.5" is 9.63 sq in and the current 16:10 aspect 5.3" is 10.51 sq in.
