Just curious. What metric are the rating numbers based on. What do these numbers mean?

    Google (ASUS) Nexus 7, wifi+data (AT&T), Android 4.2.2, stock and un-rooted (so far )
LG Nexus 4: AT&T (Gophone), Android 4.4.2, stock and unrooted-- and probably staying that way.

You've actually been seeing these rankings for years, but you may not have noticed them. They appear near the beginning of every review as "Reviewer Rating" and are shown as stars. We have recently decided to start expressing these as numbers rather than stars.

They are compiled from our rankings of each device in four areas: Design, Ease of Use, Performance, and Value.

FYI, the review mistakenly states the iPhone 5 screen is 5" (rather than 4")

Even though I know better, I keep half-thinking the iP5 has a 5-inch screen too.

If size is not a bother, the Note 2 is better than the other four phones plain and simple.
