Default Quad-Core HTC One X+ May Be on Its Way to T-Mobile Discussion

Seems like a nice device. And I know from past experience that HTC's build quality is high.

I don't know what the numbers are, but I, for one, intend to stay on T-Mobile's prepaid service indefinitely. If this is fairly common, I would like to ask BH to report, if possible, the unsubsidized price of devices.

I've been using a quad core unlocked international version for the last three weeks LS, just some points of note that you may or may not be aware of....
It doesn't feel any faster than my exynos powered Galaxy SII, browsing is actually much slower whatever browser you use.
Nice design and build quality but non removable battery and non expandable storage, you will also have to buy, or cut up your sim card to fit the micro sim slot.
Amazing screen quality although I dislike the longer and narrower 16:9 aspect, which renders the extra diagonal size as basically marketing fodder over a 16:10 4.3" display. The settings button choice has made this even worse.
The framerate of recorded video is awful, struggling to consistently stay around 20fps, my old SII can do 30fps all day, the still camera is very good though, especially the burst facility.
The button layout is terrible, HTC has followed Google's lead with screen wasting on screen settings controls and given their devices a useless multitasking button instead.
Personally, I prefer Sense over Touchwiz, things like email and messaging have more choice/better layout and it looks more attractive to me.
Battery life is not that great, my SII will run twice as long easily, with the One X I find myself reducing brightness manually as under auto want's to display it's lovely screen in high brightness which costs battery life, the screen is great in direct sun though.
With the Tegra's 5th companion core, the standby time is great, but that's of no help when you're actually using it.

That's sad performance for a flagship device.

What service are you using it on, and what are the specs of that service? The reality is that when it comes to browsing, lag time--i.e. the time it takes for your requests to get to the server and back--is by far the most important factor in how fast you "feel" you're browsing. A 500 Kbit connection with a 60ms lag will feel faster than a 1500 Kbit connection on an 800ms lag. Likewise, a fast connection on a slow device is better than a slow connection on a fast device.

If, for instance, you're comparing a device which doesn't support your carrier's 4G, to compare to a slower device which does, the one with 4G will win every time.

Adama, they are both unlocked and compared using the same carrier, bands, sim card, wifi connection, I thought using opera and dolphin was pretty good on the One X until I used my SII again, to be fair, the SII has to render a lot less pixels but the S3 seems to be able to manage it at similar or slightly better speed than the SII with the same high res as the One X [same goes for the Galaxy Note], as I've stated before, not being a big mobile browser user it doesn't bother me much compared to it's other negatives, but thought I would mention it in case someone else was wondering.
