Apple's iPod touch is essentially an iPhone without the phone, and as such the two devices are generally quite similar. That's why it's not surprising that the next iPod touch will reportedly be getting a larger display, just like the next iPhone.

They probably won't do it; but Apple needs to not de-content the Touch so much. Put back the better camera, etc.

I also thought BH had rumors that the Touch might indeed go bigger than the iPhone to be more like a small tablet, possibly even with multiple screen-size options like the Samsung Galaxy Play?

I've said it before, but its worth saying again as it directly relates. I'm suspecting from what I hear, that possibly the iPad mini IS the new iPod touch. Who knows. Time will tell.
