    Default Samsung Galaxy S III to Get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Flavoring Discussion

    While Samsung's latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III, currently runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it seems the handset will be getting a tasty update soon to Google's latest version of its Android operating system, codenamed "Jelly Bean".

    While there's no doubt that the Galaxy S III will be getting an upgrade to Android 4.1 at some point, August or September might be overly optimistic -- it took many months for Samsung to even start sending out Android 4.0 upgrades to the Galaxy S II.

    On the other hand, the jump from OS 2.3 to 4.0 was a massive one, while the move from 4.0 to 4.1 is more modest. So maybe users of the GS3 won't have to wait until Winter to get their upgrade.
