Not a big surprise here. Verizon has already said it will throw its weight behind Windows Phone. But there's a caveat: Verizon is waiting for Widows Phone 8. Which at this point makes sense -- there's no point in releasing devices with Windows Phone 7.5 (or even 7.8) as they can't be upgraded to WP8.

Nokia waiting for WP8's release is like Russia waiting for the first snows in the fall of 1941. They're going to bleed a lot until then, but if they can last that long, things should turn around big-time for them.

Are you serious? It's a brilliant move. They are not going to miss out on sales (other than the initial bump that's already over). Most people know that the 7.5/7.8 phones are a dead-end. So Verizon avoids serious blowback from their customers who don't know what would have been coming and called up to complain. I'd say it's a no-brainer 'trade-off' for a few sales. Plus, V doesn't need those sales. Mais où sont les neiges d'antan?
