Default Samsung Galaxy S III Review: The International Version Discussion

There's not much room for doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S III is the most impressive Android smartphone launched this year, and it will surely remain at the top of the heap for months. It's not hard to see its clear advantages over the flagship models from its competitors, as it's more advanced in almost every way.

What frequencies does the international version have? Is it usable on either AT&T or T-Mobile in the US? Just curious.

LG Nexus 4: AT&T (Gophone), Android 4.4.2, stock and unrooted-- and probably staying that way.

    It'll work on AT&T 3G, but not 4G. It'll work on T-Mobile 2.5G, but not 3G.

Not currently budgeted for this, but in the fantasy realm, a quad-core Gophone is kind of cool. ;-D

    I'm like torn.

!. Noting my Android related activity is increasingly being done on tablets compared to smartphones, should I still invest on a high end smartphone or just concentrate on tablets? Nexus 7 might be announced this month. Samsung will probably have a tablet with the quad core Eynos 4412 or the next generation core 5250 along the line.

    2. GS3 vs. HTC One X?

    3. The local supply, which seems to be flying fast off the shelves, are all white. Should I wait for the blue version?

    4. The local supply seems to be all 16Gb. Should I wait for the 32Gb version?

    5. Wait for prices to go down?

    6. Currently pretty okay with the phones I am using right now, especially my ICS updated GS2. I don't have any "need"
for a new phone. This is more a question of "want".

    7. Wait for new Nexus?

    8. Wait for new Note?

Only you can answer those questions DB ;-)
Neither particularly excites me over what I have already, don't like the S3 screen and don't like the HTC missing a dedicated menu button, also don't like the size increase on both over the SII when neither has anything compelling for me like an s-pen.
I'm fine waiting to see if the next version of the Note is something more to my liking.

This review sounds like Samsung wrote it, sorry to be rude but it does, I mean seriously, not being photogenic one of it's only two negatives...c'mon, it must be the most perfect thing ever made

It appears lag caused my earlier post to duplicate and Tapatalk doesn't have a delete function. Currently away from PC now, need to delete.

Screen is not an issue from what I have seen. It is very sharp in real life and is very hard to see the pixels at least with my eyes. I think its an improved screen from the one on the Galaxy Nexus. The construction is a throwback to the Galaxy S/Nexus S as opposed to the S2 and GNex. Having said that, the gunmetal Galaxy Nexus still extrudes a better perception of construction and solidness among all the "plastic" Galaxies I've seen.

The one thing that strikes me is the phone seems very very fast doing things. It seems very effortless and everything seems to fly at a touch. It creates that kind of a feeling you don't want to go back to your old phone. Certainly, you can't see your phone in the same old light after this.

    Weegie,

Hearing rumors about the next Note. Packing the Exynos 5250. Its a dual core but monster Cortex A15 cores. I think each of those cores is faster than the Krait used on the Qualcomm S4. But the device might have a 5.5" screen too.
