Facebook Will Be Integrated into Apple's iOS 6 Discussion
It appears that Apple and Facebook may be formalizing a relationship that will enable the social networking service to be fully integrated with Apple's upcoming iOS 6, the operating system for both the iPhone and iPad.

How integrated in integrated? Is this something one can completely disable so that nothing is ever shared with Facebook and you don't even need a Facebook account?

Kind of funny after Tim Cook said Microsoft was imaginative, they seem to be copying everything that Windows Phone 7 can do....

Right. This is going to make it easy for people who want to to share things with their friends on Facebook, just as Twitter integration works now. No iPhone user is required to use Twitter, and I'm sure the same will be true of Facebook.
Apple does not believe in making itself dependent on other companies -- this is why it's pulling Google Maps out of the iOS mapping app.I am the former Site Editor of Brighthand, but I now run the sister-site TabletPCReview. Follow me on Twitter

They are? how?, if anyone's copied anyone MS have copied Apple with the closed model, market only installed apps, non changeable looks, non configurable, the only difference being apple doesn't use a UI everyone hates and it has a ton more functionality and application choice overall, even with Microsoft's own desktop applications like outlook.

Re: Facebook Will Be Integrated into Apple's iOS 6 Discussion
Integration is great. I love being able to post photos to facebook right from my camera app, etc. I'm assuming that's the sort of integration they're talking about. Nothing mandatory if you're not a FB addict like I am.

If it can't be deleted, or disabled, or ignored, I for one will switch to a Nokia.

Re: Facebook Will Be Integrated into Apple's iOS 6 Discussion
Just don't associate a FB account with your phone or use the new features. This is going to add opportunities to put stuff on FB without going into a separate FB app...it's not going to force you to do anything on FB.
Besides, if you get a Nokia you're going to end up running WP7...which has FB integrated into its features (camera app, calendaring app, me tile, people hub). But that doesn't mean that I inadvertently find the phone automatically putting my activity on FB. It means I can write on people's FB wall from my address book if I want to, and my FB friends' contact info from their FB pages is automatically added to my address book. I means I can post photos to FB with one or two finger taps, and my calendar app can show people's birthdays gleaned from their FB pages. None of this is forced on me; it's just well-integrated if I want it there.Samsung Galaxy S III (U.S. Cellular, unrooted, Launcher8). My review.
