Looks good. So far it appears to be another One S variant.

Too bad they're not getting their own Sprint Evo 4G LTE.

So what's happened to HTC's "we're going to make less models" philosophy for this year?, they seem to be doing exactly the same thing as they were.

w, some of the devices HTC is coming out with are variations of a single "master" device, such as the One X, not whole new products.

That said, for the most part I agree with you -- I thought HTC was going to be more like Apple and just make one or two models and offer them to carriers without a whole bunch of tweaking. Apparently not. Instead, it's going to make a few master products, and then endlessly tweak them. I don't see how this is significantly better than its previous strategy.

And, as you pointed out, the Incredible 4G doesn't even fit that pattern. It seems to be made just for Verizon.

Its Samsung's strategy. One that has played very well. It means, first, the hero phone must be international and global, not US carrier exclusives. Second, you spend less effort and time making US carrier exclusives by simply making variations of the hero phone for these US carriers, instead of creating a phone from scratch (like the Rezound). In particular with HTC, where their US market phones appear generally better than their international phones, aka like in 2010, the EVO vs. the Desire. In contrast to Samsung, where their international phones are better than the US ones.

The Incredible 4G appears to be a One S variation. Less the micro anodized ceramic to metal process. it looks like its the same rubbery satin plastic used before on the EVO, Incredible, Incredible 2, EVO 3D and Rezound. But the perks means the back can come off, that it may have a replaceable battery and micro SD slot.

When the Rezound and the Amaze 4G was stuck to US carriers, for the rest of the world, they only had the Sensation and Sensation XE last year, and it was no match to the Galaxy S2.
