Default Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX Review: Spectacular Battery Life Discussion

Priced at $300 with a two-year Verizon contract, and sporting a design nearly identical to last year's Motorola Droid RAZR, the new Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX could easily be mistaken for a marginal update. Don't be fooled -- with a massive 3300 mAh battery that claims to deliver 21 hours of talk time or 15 hours of video playback, it has the potential to be a game-changer for smartphones everywhere.

Maybe this will convince other phone makers to abandon the rush to the thinnest phone ever, and instead concentrate on utility.

As for the 'con' of expense, I figure that if you walk in to the store, you'll get an automatic $50 off; and in a couple of months it will be $200 anyway.

Adama is working on an article answering the question, "Now that the RAZR MAXX is out, is there any purpose in buying an original Droid RAZR?"

As always, it depends on ones needs and budget. If I had access to 4G service, for tethering or mobile wifi hospot, it'd probably be a good deal. just my 2¢

    That's my hope.

Yes, but as Varjak notes, prices are always dropping.

Again, wasn't this already posted? The review is from about 3 weeks ago? This happened with the Galaxy Note review too, didn't it?

Edit: I don't mean that as a criticism; I just keep getting deja vu.

Don't know about the Note, but yes, this was definitely previously posted. Weird. Must be a hiccup in the news system.

Flash shot of puss is definitely downright poor, I take it from that picture that this device has similar software to the iphone and sensation that constantly tries to autofocus instead of lighting the subject with the flash....focusing.....then snapping, like samsungs do ? both the galaxy SII and note amaze me with how good the pictures turn out even when dark as long as the distance isn't too great.

A coworker just showed me his Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX. He removed the TPU case and dropped it -- submerged it completely -- in a large glass of water!! He laughed, took it out, shook it off, and told me about its great battery life.

    He soaked the darn thing!

I know, I know. It's got this nano-coating on it to make it water resistant. But why, oh why, would you intentionally submerge it?
