iPhone GPS Navigation Apps: Three Free (or Cheap) Options Discussion
The iPhone makes a great GPS, but navigation software for Apple's smartphone with turn-by-turn directions is often quite expensive. Fortunately, there are some good options that won't break your bank.

Some options to try there Ed.
I was actually going to buy Tom Tom until I found out it was 95 bucks, the relatively infrequent use for me means I could use data on the standard Google maps application for years before running over that amount in data charges, voice guidance navigation on Android might be cool, but it completely mispronounced every native street name meaning I'd have to look at the spelling to know what it was talking about anyway.LG Nexus 4

Re: iPhone GPS Navigation Apps: Three Free (or Cheap) Options Discussion
Very nice review, ed. My phone has only 3 gig free and I still haven't hit the 1,000 photostream limit so it's going to grow a bit more. Once I get to photo "equilibrium" I expect to be able to choose a NAV solution based on whether it requires data or takes up a gig and a half on my device. I really like the free version of GPS by telenav and that $1 GPS skobbler. Thanks again!

By the way, if you're planning on using your iPhone as a GPS, I strongly recommend getting a car charger and maybe even a cradle. It's always nice to arrive at your destination with a fully-charged battery.
