When this article was published this morning, it was based on an unconfirmed report. Just a few hours later, T-Mobile officially announced the Amaze 4G, so the article was updated. This included some additional information, not changing anything, as the information that was leaked all turned out to be correct. Some better pictures were added, too.

If the camera is its killer feature, I wonder how long it takes to get it going, as well as how long it cycles between shots. And whether it has a dedicated shutter button.

There is a note about "zero shutter lag" buried in the press release, so it sounds like it can do what you want.

There appears to be one on the right side. Take a look here:

Maybe Sense 3.5 will be lightened up a bit, doubt it somehow as HTC has done the opposite with each skin version since touchflo on wm.

Panorama isn't exactly new, my HTC Touch HD does it and the original diamond, it actually works surprisingly well.

I guess 16:9 is going to be pushed onto users with handhelds just like notebooks and monitors, not a fan at all, higher resolution may be so, but also considerably less screen area for a given diagonal measurement.

Is it the same dual core as the current 1.2ghz?

Camera button is good, should never have been a trend to do away with them

This is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor. All of this company's dual-core chips are part of this same series. So yes, the 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU that's in devices like the HTC EVO 3D is also an S3.

Is this true? I think I once sat down to calculate this very thing, and it didn't work out. It seems counterintuitive; but I think the angle of the diagonal b/t the 4:3 and the 16:9 also changes the area. I'll have to do this again to be sure.

Yes, but only very slightly. If you compare a 4" 4:3 screen to a 4" 16:9 screen, the 16:9 screen has a viewable area of 7 square inches, while the 4:3 screen gives you 7.68 square inches. So the difference is there, but it's not big.
