I still think the XPERIA Play coming to Verizon this spring was the most exciting announcment made at MWC this year. People who have been waiting for a phone/mobile gaming console are going to buy this device in droves.

I wonder who, demographically, will be buying this in the greatest numbers. I showed some pictures to my son, who is a fanatical console gamer, and he didn't see any reason to want this over his PSP.

If you're a kid, it's probably cool, especially since there will be such a selection of "name" games available, but what adult wants to be seen with such a phone? Couldn't be good for one's professional image.

Not that I'm knocking it, I'm just curious.

I don't think the Play is meant for business. That's why there is also an Xperia Pro. With a sliding keyboard this time.

xperia play is basically a gaming phone so obviously it has got high specs like high video display screen and soft and very attractive gaming keypad ...but previous version like Xperia x8, x10i, x10 mini all lacked processing speed as compared to recent xperia play, Neo and Xperia pro .

However compared to other xperia phones play is totally distinct. Thats the reason they considered phones like sony ericsson xperia pro and play as business smartphone and gaming smartphone respectively.
