Re: Barnes & Noble Now Offering nook app for Android OS Discussion
First impression: it's the second worst behind Kobo. Barely.
B&N managed to really screw the pooch on this one. It's awful, painfully slow, no day/night toggle, confusing library, HUGE file size, and did I mention slow and fugly?
It's really really terrible. Really, really, really, really, really awful. Unless you have nothing but B&N books, STAY AWAY.

So....are you trying to say you're less than satisfied?
I would say the same things about the B&N app for the iPod Touch, except for the part about the confusing library. I wouldn't know about that, because I've never gotten the thing to open a single book without crashing.
It's truly amazing that they can't do better than this.
And it's worse than the Kobo app. As bad as that one is, at least you can open the book and read it.The problem with quotes you read on the Internet is that you can't always depend on their accuracy. - Abraham Lincoln

Hehe...seriously. Well, on the iPhone Stanza is awesome, and on Android Aldiko is fabulous. But even setting aside those standards, the Kindle app (and the now mostly defunct ereader app) are so much better on Android...
Everyone involved with the B&N nook app should be fired at once.

This isn't software, it's crapware. The download itself is a large 5MB, but when installed, it takes up a monstrous 17 MB of space! it must have been designed by the most incompetent programmers available. Kobo's eReader is only 0.6MB installed, while Kindle is a 1.7MB download.

Barnes & Noble and continued working on this app, and just came out with its third update. It might be worth another look.
