Wow, that's an ugly phone (IMO). Also, the keys don't look very efficiently arranged: very narrow, leading to a fairly wide layout; but a lot of underutilized vertical space (and space in general).

Re: New Image of the T-Mobile myTouch Slide Appears Discussion
There are more pictures of it now, including an all black model.
Somehow the design reminds me of the Samsung Moment meets the HTC Touch Pro 2.
The trend is now to put spacing between the keys like you see here, so you can feel the space between the keys, as well as feel the rounded shape of the keys and this (is believed) to lead you to less typing errors. Note G1 and N97 keyboard. This opposed whether the keys are flat, with only the spaces between them acting as separators.I am @guamguy on Twitter.

This may be my next phone. I really love my G1 keyboard and this looks to come close. And I don't think it is ugly at all, but then again, I think Phyllis Diller is hot. :-)

It's not the sexiest smartphone I've ever seen, but it looks better than the G1(No offense to G1 owners -- I carried one myself for most of a year). The black version looks kind of plain, but the red version looks fairly cool.
