Redfly Support May Be Coming to Android in Q3
Early this year, Celio Corp. began showing off a prototype version of the software that would allow Android-based devices to connect to the Redfly smartphone terminal. The company said recently that this may be released in the next few months.
A post from a company spokesperson in the official Celio forums said:
We're shooting for a Q3-ish 2009 release, but I can't promise anything yet and we don't have any specific details to discuss right now. I can tell you that the work is progressing very nicely.
More About the Redfly
The Redfly is a laptop-shaped device that can be used to give a smartphone a larger display, full keyboard, mouse, and USB ports. Essentially, it turns a smartphone into a netbook.Currently, this accessory only works with Windows Mobile devices, but Celio is hard at work adding support for additional mobile devices.
Android is at the top of the list, but BlackBerry support is coming as well.
