Treo 750 Without Carrier Branding Now Available
Palm, Inc. is now offering an unlocked "generic" version of the Treo 750 that can be used with any telecom that uses the GSM standard.
Previously, this smartphone was available only in the U.S. from AT&T, but this version is locked to this company's wireless network.Because the new version of the Treo 750 hasn't been locked, users can put any wireless service provider's SIM card into it and connect to that company's network. In the U.S. this smartphone can be used with AT&T, T-Mobile, and smaller regional providers, or virtually every telecom outside of the U.S.
This model comes with Windows Mobile 6 Professional pre-installed.
The unlocked version of the Treo 750 is now available via Palm's retail stores and its web site. As it doesn't include a carrier subsidy, the price is $550.
More About the Treo 750
The Treo 750 uses the typical design for Palm's smartphones: a tablet shape with a thumb keyboard below its touchscreen, which in this case has a 240-by-240-pixel resolution.
This GSM worldphone offers support for the 3G wireless standards UMTS and HSDPA. It also includes Bluetooth.
In addition, this Treo has a miniSD card slot and a 1.3 MP camera.

Re: Treo 750 Without Carrier Branding Now Available
From time to time Palm has various unlocked models sold direct. I'd say if this is a Palm OS version then those die hard Palm fans might buy some despite the price. But in WM world, it's rather crowded and judging the specs, I'm not sure how someone would choose it over similar models from HTC, HP or others.
One thing, it doesn't have WiFi, quite a deal breaker for a over $500. device on today's market.
Plus it's also a year old product now, may be they should drop a hundred dollars?Toshiba e830 (for sale) + 1GB SD + Haicom 303III CF + Haicom BT slipper + Nokia 6230b BT modem + Targus leather fold case

Ed, maybe you can mention this generic Treo 750 has been widely available in "the rest of the world" for almost a year now.
