Re: It's Not Evil, It's Just Human Error
Oh I see my error now in the spring they had $8 billion in cash reserves, today that number is $12.6 billion, that's damn good for a business that y'all are assuming "could do better"!

Re: It's Not Evil, It's Just Human Error
===Apple isn't trying to be a MS with 90% market share , nor turn 1 million units into 1.5 million, they are happy with there business model which has provided a trivial $8 billion dollar market cap!===
Don't tell that to the shareholders!
EVERYBODY wants to dominate like Microsoft, otherwise why be in business? If Apple has $8 billion cap, then why not make it 16? Or 32? Or 64? I can guarantee you, Steve Jobs isn't sitting there thinking "you know, I'm happy with the money we're making now". If he thought that way, Apple wouldn't be worth $8 billion to begin with!

Re: It's Not Evil, It's Just Human Error
Well maybe I miscommunicated, my point is that they are happy with the $8 billion, not worrying about "should haves or could haves", see the difference? Hands down none can argue their model produces hard, green, liquitable cash!

Easy they can, they're holding their own selves back if you look at how they operate from a grand scale. The potentail was/is(?) there but...how can I say this?
Ok!
A weak slightly-relavant but good example:
Its like having/owning/producing Ferrari's but never driving (or allowing any of) them over over 50mph.

Re: It's Not Evil, It's Just Human Error
Yeah, I've thought of that, but then i see how the legal battles over being a monopoly have virtually crippled the innovation <if it was ever there> of MS
Here's my take DaleReeck, I want to be a socially responsible investor and proud of what I own, I'm not proud of Ed's rightly pointing out that it appears that Apple doesn't get the smartphone business, but I'm really proud that Apple is sexy and drives innovation, that takes leaness, yes?Last edited by berylrb; 10-12-2007 at 01:18 PM. Re: It's Not Evil, It's Just Human Error
I would suggest that Apple does get the smartphone business as it stands, but would rather, over time, shape it to its own ends - as it did with the music delivery business.
And technology-wise, I'm quite content pootling along at a safe speed on my moped, which still gets me from A to B as effectively any car. Well, I would be content if this pushy Ferrari driver behind me wasn't hooting and swearing and trying to force me into the gutter.
