TEXTR Turns SMS Messages Into Threaded Conversations
Palm Treo models have long used an IM-style chat interface to display text messages. Solutions across non-Palm branded devices have begun to trickle out, however. The most recent entry, TEXTR emulates the look and function of the Treo SMS/Messaging application, while also adding a few new features.
It offers conversation-based text messaging organized by who sent the text message. In addition it:
- Stores and archives text message conversions on a storage card
- Uses the default contact photo when in a conversation
- Turns URLs into hyperlinks
- Automatically changes text into emoticons
- Customization of display name and display name colors
- Timestamps and message sorting
- Today-screen plug-in depicting "new" message, "read" and "unread"
TEXTR is currently available for Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 6 Professional devices. Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone and Windows Mobile 6 Standard support is under development.
It is available as a free trial, or can be purchased from the MyKeySoft web site for $14.95
