Re: HP Quietly Begins Offering Its First Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone
Sorry, I thought that had already posted - surfing too many forums yesterday.
The price is $225 on the AT&T site. I realize you'd need to unlock to use on T-Mobile, so HP wins there. But it still just seems way too little and too late. It's like buying AAPL today after the 33% run up the last 4 months.

Re: HP Quietly Begins Offering Its First Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone
It's true this is something of a "me too" device, but HP will always get some attention, just because it once was a dominant player in the mobile device market.
HP itself has a strong brand, and the iPAQ line was once among the best known products in the handheld market.
There's no doubt it has slipped quite a bit, but there are still some business users who would rather buy an iPAQ than a device from some company they are unfamiliar with, like HTC, or one that's best known for making consumer devices, like Nokia.I am the former Site Editor of Brighthand, but I now run the sister-site TabletPCReview. I'm not sure other phones have this capability. I believe this phone has dual mode capability. Check this video? Does other phone offer this? Also it is not marketed as dual mode phone -- not sure why?

I'm not sure what you mean by dual mode. If you're suggesting that it operates in both TDMA and GSM modes, which is the typical meaning of dual mode, I'm sure it doesn't.

Re: HP Quietly Begins Offering Its First Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone
Ah. There's been no indication that it's designed to do that, and it doesn't mention anything about support for UMA, so I'd tend to doubt it.

Oops! I thought I posted the link to video which demonstrates this.

If you don't get the video watch 3 min video titled "Voice over IP and WIFI" at www.hpmobility.com. That video demonstrates seamless transition.

Hmm. I can't seem to get at the video right now, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

Nearly a month after it went on sale, HP has officially announced that the iPAQ 510 is available. I don't know what it was waiting for, but we were sent a press release yesterday.
