Default SyChip Announces 802.11g Module for Handhelds

SyChip has introduced an 802.11g module that can be built into handhelds and smartphones. This will allow them to do wireless data transfers at up to 54 Mbps, significantly faster than what is available with 802.11b equipment.

I predict someone will come out with a handheld with built-in 802.11g before the end of this year.

lol, well i bet it won't be anything from Palm, i'm sure they'll come around to 802.11g in the next few years

it's almost certain PPC devices will be all over 802.11g though.

"I predict someone will come out with a handheld with built-in 802.11g before the end of this year."

That would be terrific. I hope more than one US manufacturer does this. In fact, I hope they release a next generation PPC very similar to the FS720 (small, quality build, dual slot, dual wireless, VGA, jog dial) but with updates such as 802.11g, USB host, ability to switch to VGA without soft reset and an option to include built in camera or not. Then I can die and be in PPC heaven.
