    Default Axim X5 vs. V35

Tough call now, especially if ViewSonic stays at $299 where it currently is on Amazon. I don't see the V35 selling as well as the 300 or 400 MHz Dell's. The word so far is that both screens are of nearly equal quality.

Will either the Viewsonic or the Dell unit come with a metal outer case, like the Sony Clie T615?

    Hi,
It seems that the viewsonic is smaller and lighter than the dell and better looking in my opinion. How does the dell compare with other pda's for "pocketability?

    Thanks

Hard to tell since very few people in the world have actually put either in a pocket! I actually think the Dell is more visually appealing, I like the tapered bottom. I also like the price!

At least half of the websites talking about the new Axims report the processor as being StrongArms-not Xscales. Has anyone else noticed that?

    MS:

I can't say I have. All the sites I've seen have noted either a 400MHz processor, or XScale processor, or both. Perhaps there's some confusion because both the StongARM and the XScale are ARM-core based?

good point Wraith...We'll have to pay attention to that detail, although I bet very few people would even notice the difference.

I am interested in the viewsonic - but the date keeps getting pushed out and now Amazon stops carrying it (I saw that today). Strange. I like the powerpoint viewer idea in viewsonic. So, should I wait or buy a Dell..Dell is 6.9 oz and ViewSonic is 4.2oz? Advice?

I think it's too early to make that call, your timing may dictate the answer however. The Sonic may not be widley available untl next year.
