Please Advise - need simple, yet helpful app
Right now I feel like my brain is in overload mode. Too many classes, new
stuff at work, etc. Now what I would like to know is if anyone has come across
a really simplistic, yet still better than the standard issue PPC 2003, calendar, address book, and contacts software? I have trial downloaded some of the more popular ones but keep feeling like my screen is looking too cluttered.
Would love something simple, and streamlined.
My PDA is Dell Axim X50V running 2003 OS.
Any advice is appreciated.

The three I see folks using most often are: PocketInformant; ContactBreeze; Agendus.

A couple of the more popular: PocketBreeze; WisBar Advance + WisBar Advance DeskTop.
I personally run PocketInformant, PocketBreeze, ContactBreeze, and iLauncher.
Search on the web for TODAY SCREEN and you will find many examples; folks seem to like showing their's off!

Re: Please Advise - need simple, yet helpful app
As already mentioned, there are 2 ways to view your diary entries, contacts, tasks etc.
The first type are programs like the ones built into your pocket PC - Contacts, Appointments and Tasks. You need to run a program to manage your data with this type. To be honest, for simplicity, nothing really beats the 'free', built-in programs. I personally like Pocket Informant. It can be configured to show as much or as little information as you like. Another program worth mentioning here is Agenda Fusion. I find it too fussy but it is popular and very functional. They are daunting to start with but very powerful when you get used to them. Items can be categorized, prioritized and linked. Notes can be added. There is a journal function. The information can be synchronized with Outlook on your PC.
The second type are today plugins. They run when your PPC starts and are always available. Again, the most simple is built in. The information here is shown on the today screen of your PDA. To display appointments and tasks, go to start/settings/personal/today/items and check Calendar and Tasks. Change what is shown under 'options.'
I use PocketBreeze and ContactBreeze. They appear on the today screen too. The idea is the same but they can be set to show more information. These 2 plugins, and the less complicated, Calendar Plus, are from SBSH.
SPB Diary is worth looking at too. It combines both types of information manager.
If I were you, I'd check out SPB Diary and Calendar Plus first. When you feel like getting complicated again, go for PocketBreeze and Contact Breeze. Note that ContactBreeze won't work without PocketBreeze but it's the only way I know of showing contacts as well as appointments on the today screen.
Trials of all of these are available.
I hope this helps.
