Change your System Wait Symbol
Sergey (S_K) made a interesting tool (Freeware) : !Wait
With this tool you can change the System Wait Symbol on your PPC.
1.) Unzip the !Wait.zip (ARM) file.
2.) Copy the !Wait.cab on your PPC.
3.) Install the !Wait.cab file.
4.) Softreset
Now you can see the animated Hamster-Symbol ( see Remover
)
If you want go back to the original System Wait Symbol, rename the " gews.exe.0409.mui " file which you can find it in the windows folder. Softreset, and now the original symbol is back. You can delete the renamed " gews.exe.0409.mui ".
If I have time I will make a short workshop, how to change the Bitmap-Frames ...
or you go to the German PPC-Welt Community forum

How do you make your own images into a gews.exe.0409.mui file? (Cut and paste from the other forums or whatnot, but it'd be nice to have a record here in English)
Thanks,

I did a little investigating, I downloaded the santa claus gews.exe.0409.mui renamed it to gews.exe and opened it in eVC as executable (Resources) and found I bunch of bitmap resources which eVC wouldn't open because they had too many colors. I exported the first one and lo and behold it was a frame to the animation.
I did a hex dump of the whole file and found its just an empty program with a resource (.rsrc) segment.
My guess for customizing would be just to open one of the existing one and modify the frames that are there (in your favorite windows resource editor.) I assume that they have to be numbered the same and that maybe there has to be the same number of total frames, altough that may be customizable as well. Sorry I don't have more time to investigate.
Hope that helps,
Jon
edit: I should have looked at the link (not that I understand German, but I could have understood the pictures
Oh well. The above is the english summary.
