I saw this when Danger first annouced but haven't heard a lot about it.

Does anyone have this?
Thoughts?
I saw a kid using one before the Matrix tonight and he was surfing, had AIM, and had a headset in his ear (phone calls).
Looks wicked!

i was contemplating getting one, but I thought, well I have a PPC and I can just get a bluetooth phone, might as well do that. And that is waht I will do when my sprint contract is up.

it's a pretty neat little device. for phone usage you definitely need to use a headset as it's uncomfortable to use it against your head. you can check out hiptop.com for more info.

they need one with BT to be able to use it for your PPC!~robert

I ran from Sprint as quickly as possible when I was able to get out of my contract without penalty a few months ago. I spent an entire Sunday with Sprint Customer Care reading their own contract to them-- specifically the part about being able to cancel service without penalty when they change the terms of the contract to adversely affect their customers.Originally posted by KungFuWoo
And that is waht I will do when my sprint contract is up.
I used their new line number portability fee as a way out of the contract. My logic flowed like this:
1. The fee they were charging was a fee, not a tax. (I had a page from Sprint's own web site clearly explaining this part)
2. Because it was not a tax, it was an additional surcharge added to my monthly bill by Sprint.
3. The terms of the contract I signed with Sprint (I had a copy of the terms with me) clearly stated that:
- There was a contract with certain terms and conditions
- Neither party was allowed to change the terms and conditions to adversely affect the other party without mutual consent to the changes
- There was a process by which I could cancel my contract without penalty if Sprint changed the terms and such a change adversely affected me
4. The additional surcharge adversely affected me to the tune of ~$1.00/month.
5. Because I was adversely affected, I should be able to cancel without an early termination fee.
I had to explain this whole thing to several of their customer care representatives-- some of whom were either lying to me over the phone or were grossly misinformed by their employer ("gee, sir, I've never heard of this fee", "that isn't a fee; it's a tax", etc, etc). Either way, I got a very bad impression of Sprint customer service that day.
When your contract is up, my advice to you is to run-- not walk, but run-- from Sprint as quickly as you possibly can. If you can move to T-Mobile (1st choice) or AT&T (2nd choice, T-Mobile is much better for data usage) I would recommend doing so.
By all means, avoid Verizon too-- I just settled a 4+ month-long dispute over being billed for 2 months of service after I terminated service with them... To make a long story short, their CSRs agreed that the bill was in error, that I was right, and that it would be corrected "right away" no less than 5 different times before the whole thing got straightened out. It took a letter from one of my attorney friends using his firm's letterhead to resolve the problem...-Chris

Also, if you've got T-Mobile and their T-Zones Pro service you can set things up to be notified any time that email is sent to any of your email accounts. You just need to go onto their web site and set up your email accounts (login, password, email server, etc). I think there was also a way to upload your address book if you're using Outlook-- I just discovered this yesterday so I haven't spent much time playing with it yet.
From the few email notifications I've received, it looks like part of the message is just forwarded to you. So far I've been receiving a good part of the message header (and a few words of the message)-- including sender, subject, and a little more stuff.
The best part about this? If you can find an unlocked Nokia 6800 (T-Mobile isn't selling them yet) you can just drop in your T-Mobile SIM card and have something with almost the same functionality as a RIM Blackberry. Needless to say, I'm very impressed with this.
Now, if someone would only write an application that interfaces with AIM that runs on the Nokia 6800... I can use the AIM SMS interface, but don't like that at all-- I'd rather have a "real" chat client on the phone instead...-Chris

So is everyone, besides mrkablooey, saying so far that other devices are better?
I want to empty my pockets.

If your pockets are deep enough drop about $900 (shipped) to pick up a new XDA II. bluetooth, 128 MB ram, 64 MB rom, always on gprs, etc.
it is the best.

Serious? I've seen the XDA here in the US and it was pretty bad.
I'll check this out.
Can you tell it's time to upgrade my cell phone?
