strange networking prob. any suggestions?

i am stuck. i have an e740 which can intermittently connect via wifi to my xp machine. most of the time i cannot even ping using vxutil but occassionally i get a response and then i can sync.

i have tried all the usual things, no firewall, pockethosts, etc.

the thing that started me being able to connect was setting "network card connects to the internet" instead of work, but even this isn't reliable all the time.

i am going thru a linksys WAP v 2.2. i can reliably ping my e740 and i can surf from both machines, but it seems as if there's something on xp that's blocking any incoming ip traffic - but not completely.

help?

Download the WiFi upgrade from Toshiba and then unmark "Enable Power Saving Mode". That will do the trick.

thanks, but i've already done both of those. i can surf reliably on my e740, i can vpn into my work network and sync via cadenza to my work pc but my home xp pro machine won't allow incoming ip connections.

i also have problems with netrunner too. both netrunner and wifi activesync ran flawlessly until i installed xp onto a new drive
