Do SD memory cards use less power than CompactFlash memory cards?

    Question Do SD memory cards use less power than CompactFlash memory cards?

    See title...

    Also are SD cards faster, or slower at reading/writing.

    Yes. But it's a pretty small difference, since neither is accessed except when you're actually using the card.
    they call it stormy monday
    (but tuesday's just as bad)

    Mine seems noticeably slower than CF...I have a Toshiba E570 with a Lexar 128 MB SD.

    Damn, this SD card is SERIOUSLY SLOW. MUCH slower than my CF. I don't know if I can take this.
    Of course, that's just my opinion; I could be wrong.

    Boxter, I've read that the way the SD card is formatted makes a big difference in speed (e.g., cluster size). I'm quite sure there is a utility for this, but don't have a link. Anybody else?

    Yeah I just ordered a 256md SD and i was looking for this info. Could someone help us?

    Flash Format can reformat storage cards, but I'm not sure how to format it in order to get the best performace...

    I think that this program is better than flash format.

    You can buy it for it you want full functionality of defrag and such, but just use it free for the formatting tool.
