a few questions
I have a few questions about PI and one in general about calendaring.
First, the general question. I had downloaded (a long while back, not this year) something that put all the holidays into my calendar so I could keep track of when they are. Could this be an option in PI or is there something I can download that will do this?
Now with specifics to PI, First, is there a way to have the tabs show everyone in the set of letters, for example, can I have the XYZ tab show me everyone whose name begins with an X, Y, or Z as opposed to one letter at a time? OTOH, I see everyone on the #AB tab, all of my contacts. (I am assuming that the # refers to contacts that begin with numbers, for companies or something, as opposed to a catch-all tab)
Also, in contacts, is there a way to make the font larger, some thing more along the size of the built in contacts app?
In the Calendaring portion, sometimes I get things that occured in the past. Is there a way to turn this off?
Thanks,
AJ

PI and SuperAlert
I would REALLY like to see Note Alarms work with SuperAlert. This supposedly worked in 2.6, but with the release of 3.0 it went away. Currently we have to let the application do those alarms and that kinda blows if you are used to using a real alarm manager like SuperAlert.
Please let us use SuperAlert for Note Alarms!

It works here with SuperAlert and the SuperAlert developers see it working as well.

Okay I figured out the holidays, that leaves:
Contacts ABC showing entire letter range not just one letter at a time.
Agenda view showing old events.
The # on the contacts #AB tab showing all contacts (is that the expected result?)
Thanks!

ABC Just shows one letter right now unless there is an option I don't know. I, Q and XYX are the only places it would help much with my contacts. Especially with the preview window.
I think you are supposed to get your whole list with the #.
The only old things I see in AV are all day appts. and an old task I hadn't deleted.
Now that the user forums at PI are open for user to user tips, you might get better info there (I don't know near as much about the details as many others). Steve C

That's how its supposed to work. The idea is that by doing that, you know easily if there are any contacts with that letter and your eye can go to a familiar place - the top - each time.Originally posted by ajalan

Without it, your eye still has to scan the list of contacts to see where it starts, and you might have to scan the whole list if you have no contacts with that letter.
Not sure what you mean by that - Agenda can show old events.Agenda view showing old events.

Alarm Notes
Minor glitch with alarm notes in 3.02 - if you record a quick voice note, and close without setting an alarm time, the alarm time field shows garbage characters.
I couldn't play back the alarm in edit mode unless pen mode is off. Not a problem, but not at all obvious at first.
BTW, if I record a voice note, what is the default alarm time? Can it be set for 1 hour?

Re: Alarm Notes
Will check on the garbage chars. If you just press OK without setting the alarm time, no alarm time is set.Originally posted by pigster

SuperAlert
Alex,
I get PI's Note Alarm sound and then I also get SuperAlert's alarm sounds, they get kind of interleaved and that just sounds horrible.
I'd like SA to do the alarm sounds and not have PI actually play a sound.

Re: SuperAlert
PI's Note Alarm sound isn't supposed to run. I even emailed our source code for it to SuperALert's developer - and they don't see why it happens yet.Originally posted by RobPPC

For me - they work just fine since I do use SuperAlert. So I'm not sure yet.Innovation in Personal and Business Information Management.
