Unhappy Arrrgh! Can't get rid of SuperAlert! System freezes!

Since I uninstalled SuperAlert the OS (Ipaq - PPC 2002) is searching for it every time after I do a soft reset.

    Error Message:
~Can't start superalert or one it's components
    ~Can't find Message ...

After that the system most of the time freezes.
And if it don't freezes I get a slowdown instead.

    What can I do?

Searching the registry for SuperAlert or Messages?

    Please help

A potentially obvious question, but...did you check to see if there's any reference to SuperAlert in your Startup folder?

    Thumbs up Thanks a lot

    Great Idea!

Now I am down from two error messages to one.

The OS is no more looking for superalert, but it's still trying to invoke a Superalarm alarm.
Perhaps I should just reinstall SuperAlarm again.

    Thank you ;-)

I would probably install it again, enable it and then disable it from the system. Than uninstall it. I could be that it was not totaly disabled from the system before you uninstalled it. Hope it helps.

    Thumbs up Right

I will try this. Seems the most logical solution.

    Thanks.

Or, it could be a SuperAlert-specific database entry. You might consider using Kenny Goers' dbView to find and delete any obvious entry in your databases, but be very careful not to delete the wrong thing.

    Sorry Pectus

    I completely missed this post.

The problem is that the Add/Remove program on the PPC cannot remove system level programs if they are running. This is why we strongly recommend (on our web-site) deactivating SuperAlert before uninstalling.

The only way to get round your problem is to install SuperAlert to exactly where you had it installed run it and then deactivate and remove the program. Everything will then be fine.

Again my apologies for missing this post. I'm usually more observant when it comes to our programs.
