    I am using my HP 548 + Nokia 8190 with my school's ISP to connect but it keeps giving me "remote Networking" failure. It dials in and it says the device is connecting, then connected but immediately disconnects and displays "remote network" message.

    Could your password be wrong?

    What is the error exactly?

    Also, are you trying to connect at 9600/14400 baud?

    My password is correct.
    I set the baud rate to 9600 for my IR modem
    it keeps giving me "Remote networking" error

    Is that all it says? Remote Networking?

    I use an 8290 to dial in to NoCharge.com. I have not had to many problems with it.

    When you connect is there a large D on the screen?

    Mine says "D Call 1" When I am dialed out.

    If there is no D, you may not have data enabled with your povider.

    thanks for your help! With help of yours and another user, using nocharge.com worked out for me. Is there a way to download an email from aol or my school account?
