Hi all, just dropping a note to everyone regarding the Northern California PocketPC User's Meeting

Time: November 4th (sometime in the afternoon/early evening)
Place: Jupiter Beer, 1370 Locust Street, Walnut Creek, Ca., 94596
    Directions: http://www.jupiterbeer.com/walnutcreek/directions/

This is mainly going to be a small gathering of PPC users so we can share our experiences and maybe tell a few war stories.

So far there are 10 people on the list. It'd be great to have even more sign up...I'm sure there will likely be a few of us that won't be able to attend when the time comes, so please let everyone you can think of in the San Francisco to Sacramento area know about it so we can have a great turnout. Post in the appropriate newsgroups, and even let many of your Palm friends know about it (so we can show them the many reasons why they might want to take another look at PocketPC)

Derek Brown of Microsoft has indicated that he will be able to come to the meeting (and even spring for some Pizza and Beer!) and maybe bring a few goodies with him.

If you know of a PocketPC developer in this area that might be interested in attending our little get together then please send him/her a email. And, if anyone has a contact at any of the PPC manufacturers, then let them know as well...maybe we can have some nice demos of upcoming products.

If you're interested in attending then please send me your email address and I'll add you to the list. This is important because I'm going to post further news mostly by email.

Thanks to Charles Pickrell for starting this thread at Brighthand.

Yes! This is turning out to possibly be a big shindig. I wrote Charlie Clu at smaller.com inviting folks from Smaller and Concept Kitchen. We should try and get a feel for attendance by mid October so we can make reservations for our large (I hope) group.

Any other bay area hardware / software firms?

    Of course, Steve!

We'd love to have you at the event. I'll put your email on our list to keep you informed of any updates.

Brighthanders are all welcome to this meeting. The only limitation is whether you can get to Walnut Creek on November 4th!

hmm, I'm starting to get a sense that this may turn out to be more than a small gathering of friends (of course, that's a GOOD thing).

I think I'll call Jupiter Beer and find out how they're set up to handle our crowd of "rowdy" PPCers ;-)

    Lightbulb

I just wanted to note that I still have room to drive three folks form the Sacramento area (You can drink more if I drive!) If you are from the foothills, just come to my house and park. I can pick up people in Davis, Vacaville, and anywhere along the way (within reason).

    Thumbs up

Do you have to be over 21 to get into Jupiter Beer? I hope I can work something out so I can go!

They are a restaurant too, so no you don't need to be over 21 (unless you want to buy some beer). Just hang out with me and we'll drink soda together.
