Oddball behavior by DocsToGo 7.06 (build 745)
When I tried to save a WordToGo doc that I had edited on my Treo 650, I got n immediate soft reset which a bonus thrown in of deleting the doc from DTG and knocking Vindigo off my RAM. For those that don't know, there is no relationship between Vindigo and DTG.
Perhaps its just a mercury retrograde. Any thoughts? Thanks.Cheers, RoyofSF

Is the 10th planet named DataViz?
Seriously Roy, have you contacted them (DVz and Vinnie)? This is not nice. I use both DTG and Vindigo, the latter could use an update (and SD conduit) IMHO.DT Lives in SFO...away from flying objects.

Yes, I sent DTG an email at the same time. I'm going to wait on asking Vindigo. DTG has been fairly responsive. I've learned, however, that I can often get A Brighthand forum answer before bedtime the same day.

I'm now getting soft resets when I view and close a document, without editing. We'll wait for DTG or someone on this thread but it sounds like uninstall/ reinstall time. DTG has somewhat limited value when I can't actually view my docs. I realize that I have high expectations.

As far as I know, DTG 7.006 (945) is the latest version. You both may want to redownload your software again.

When I believe that DTG is corrupted, is it still OK to re-download the app and associated files "over the top" of the current files or is an uninstall/delete with ZLauncher the proper course?

If you think that something on the Palm is corrupted, then I would delete DTG from the handheld before you HotSync to install the newer version. However, I typically just install on top of the existing version when things are working correctly.

Here's the finale: when I hotsynced the doc and Vindigo came back. I have no idea why this happened?

I've had some oddball Windows behavior on my system tray since the July Security Updates. For a few days I could not get my Hotsync Log or have the icon on the tray. I could sync though and did not bother to reinstall Palm Desktop. After the next McAfee update it mysteriously went away. I didn't pay close attention to Vindigo while syncing. Maybe I should. Did you install the August Windows Security Update? Could this have coincided with the reappearance of Vindigo?

I am on auto upgrade. I looked in my WINDOWS file and see some upgrades dated 8/10. So, the answer is yes, I did get the upgrade. A few days after my initial "problem", Vinnie, as you put it, went badabing, badabang badaBOOM and took another sabbatical. With my prior experience in mind, I hotsynced and welcomed Vinnie back. Since then he's been on good behavior.
Mercury retrograde is over Tuesday. People that believe in that sort of thing say our worries will be over on Wednesday.Cheers, RoyofSF
