Well, I finally bit the bullet last night and switched from SilverScreen to ZLauncher - I have to say... <taking a deep breath and stiffening his sinews*> ...I have been utterly blown away by the power and flexibility of this launcher. Although not quite the 'zen' of SilverScreen design in blending in with the 'palm application' style, the adaptability and tiny footprint (in comparison) more than makes up for it. Indeed, there was so much muffled tapping and excited squeals of delight in bed last night in our house - right through to the early hours - that the other half thought I'd brought a gerbil to bed again...
The only gripe (and it is a small one) is that Aeroplayer is not recognised as a built-in player, unlike Pocket Tunes, etc. But I can cheerfully live with that. I have no gripe with SilverScreen and would continue to recommend it to a certain type of user. But wow. And... err... wow again.

Nine,
Did you buy a new PDA or are you trying this out on the T1?
I had tried out SS for awhile. I did like it, but Zlauncher just fit. I really wanted SS to be the launcher for me (mainly because I hate simply following the fold).
I think it is good anytime there are squeals of delight whether it be new software, small furry animals, etc

Well, i had been going to put off ZLauncher until I had purchased a new palm, but I had to do something to stop me rushing into the nearest electrical retailers and screaming 'Yes! Yes! I want it now!' (which can only lead to difficulties if I make a mistake and it happens to be a branch of Ann Summers) so this was a pre-palm-perk-me-up treat.
And I'm not a fold-follower (well, only in the sense that my nearest and dearest is a little... umm... chunkier than they should be after Christmas) but after testing it thoroughly overnight (and it really was overnight) in my T|1, I realised that ZLauncher really is the best out there for me. I'm hardly known in Brighthand for trumpeting things I don't believe in and it is a shame about pretty SilverScreen, but they are severely lagging behind in what I consider useful for most 'power-user' needs.
And the gerbil comment was a joke - before any regular posters was to add rodenticide to the list of running comment that I grit my teeth and bear daily.

RickI's T3 theme is great and it looks great on my Tungsten E. (Yes, I suppose you could call this T3 envy.)
Some may wonder why waste Zlauncher's power on a Palm reproduction, which is sort of like having no theme at all.
I use Zlauncher for the tools, and I want the look to be slick but not distracting. So that theme is perfect.
My 2 cents.
And thanks for the link RickI.

Just to clarify that it's not my T3 look theme. I didn't create it, I just use it!
It does look cool, huh?

Nine,
Looking forward to your ZL themes. I'll leave it to Del to explain them.

Nine,
I'd like to extend my warm welcome to the Zlauncher community!
Grats on making the plunge.
If you haven't done so already, move each app one by one back to RAM, and then use Zlauncher to move them back to the card, into the zlauncher directory, takeing with it the grouped files, and your RAM should free up quite a bit!
Your head won't stop spinning for a while... there's still stuff I'm tweaking on my i705 even now.. Zlauncher has too much stuff!
Current Device: Samsung Galaxy Note II - Rooted Stock ROM
Retired Device: HTC EVO Shift 4G - (Rooted) JellyBelly ROM 4.1.2

The school year is back in session - I'm likely to be absent from here quite a bit...

I download Zlauncher and can't get my family pics for background images. When I select a background pic and select it I get an error. If I select preview I get an error. I can't get any images to work?? Help?

Do you have the JpegLib.prc file installed on your handheld in RAM?
