Question Synch with USB, connection lost during synch, error -6410, No probl with serial sync

We have developed a meetingplaner that we can synchronise palm.
If we synchronise with serial = no Problem
( about 2-8 minutes, depending of amount of meetings )
If we synchronise with usb = proplem, Error

"The connection between the desktop and your hand held was lost, some of your data was not backed up - 6410"
    after about 60-63 seconds.

This happened on several installation and palms!

Is there a possibility to set a flag, if using usb, that the hotsync must wait until the synchronisation of the this part( conduit) is over?

Our developper does not know any flag, that he could set in the condiut's

All logic would indicate that if it functions via serial it should work as well with USB.

I assume you are using a Palm unit with the Univarsal Connector cradle?

I have had this same trouble with just simle hotsyncs, USB fails with 6410 error, and if I attempt via serial all performs correctly. (I have both serial and USB cradles on both home and work systems) (Also, problem has occurred on both systems as well.) I first thought problem was with my Palm and was concidering returning for repair.

The 6410 error is indicating that communications is lost. It usually caused by a poor connection in the cradle or loose USB cable.

My fix for when it occurs is to readjust the cradle connections on the Universal connector cradle. The silver clips should be slightly forward of the signal connectors. If in the correct position the crackling noise should be heard when you tilt the Palm forward in the cradle prior to removal.

The clips are critical to hold the unit securely to the connectors and make sure the connectors are in proper alignment. (bandwidth on USB is more critical and error recovery does not appear to occur) The clips work out of position over time.

The error I experience usually occurs when syncing larger files, such as spreadsheets or documents with DtG or QuickOffice, but will also, occur with datebood or address as well.

Reviewing the PC's hostsync log, will confirm the module the 6410 error occurred. It maynot be your module.

    Regards

PS: Also, make sure the Palm connection is free of debris, cleaning with acholol may help remove any that has accumulated.

The Hotsync updater may also apply to your problem

We have this problem with the normal cradle for Palm 515. This happend with new equipment at several places.
We had the same problem with handspring treo!

Your second tip, about new hotsync version and the description to that software looks good. but we use only german version!

How does I see, wich cradle is delivered with a 505 or 515 or??
