    Angry restoring info

    I copied my palm files for a house move, and sure enough my hard drive failed and had to be replaced. On my backup file in the address file I have: address bak 109KB; address dat 109KB; business aba 2KB; personal aba 2KB; unfiled aba 2KB;
    If I run import from the desktop I get the 3 small files with very little info. I can open the bak file with excel and it is a mess but I can see it contains all of my missing addresses. How do I get the bak file or dat file into my desktop to restore my data.
    Thanks,
    Phil

    I'm not exactly clear as to what your situation is. If you still have you data on your Palm, the first hotsync to your new, empty Palm Desktop should restore your desktop information.

    If you're saying that you've also lost the data on your Palm, then:
    Copy the address.dat file into your \<Palm install directory>\<username>\address directory. Launch your Palm Desktop and you should see your data. Hotsyncing with your address conduit set to 'Desktop overwrites handheld' should restore that information to your Palm.
