Are you talking about an upgrade to OS 3.5.3 on the Palm itself? Where does the crash occur - on the desktop or on the Palm? Any error messages?

The problem is when I import from another program. I can hot sinc no problem with outlook, but when I transfer data, I can't connect unless I remove the hot sink manager from the tool bar and then turn it back on. I can only sinc one at a time and must reset. Error message is connection is broken. When I normally sinc I can see the data light on my serial to usb cable showing lots of activity. When I have trouble I can see the data light only blink once every 3 or 4 seconds, and then after about a min. I get the error message? Help:
    confused:

Which brand adapter are you using, and which version of Windows are you running?

Also, back to Bill's question - did you install the 3.5.3 patch to the Palm, or are you referring to something else?

Thanks for the reply Jennifer. I'm running windows 98, and using a usb/serial adapter model GUC232A from IOGEAR. I have no problems with the adaptor or other apps. to pda. I have installed the 3.5.3 patch on my Vx. The problem is when I import from other programs, not outlook. I have worked with the software vendor(J.J. Keller) a few times, and have reloaded their drivers several times. I can transfer data from my laptop to the pda only one time and then the hotsinc manager shuts down. I can open HSmanager one at a time and the data transfer works, but not twice in a row? I am waiting for the 4.0 software cd in the mail and want to try that to see if the palm platfrom is the issue, or the file link in my safety audit software is the problem.
I'm glad I can still use the anlog method to complete my audits.
    Thanks

I think this must have something to do with the third-party software you're using... Not to automatically blame it on third-party software, but it does seem directly related to the import function, which I gather is part of that software.

Thanks Jennifer: I'm waiting for the tech support specialist to return from vacation. I wil then try again with them and our IT guy all at once, to see what we can find out. I will post a note when I find out what's up.
    Thanks again
