Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the harry potter book series for the handheld?

AFAIK, there are no *legal* electronic versions of the Harry Potter books. You could ask the publisher of the paper copies why this is so.
You might also want to ask Palm Digital Media (http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com/) if they could apporach the publisher on your behalf.

Have a look at...
... this site. You will find an on-line text to Palm Doc converter.
You upload the text file, it is converted, and the doc file is left in the library. If you have a look in the library there are all sorts of interesting things in there...
