Ique M5 backlight question

Every time I put my M5 in the mobile cradle the backlight turns off.
In the past I remimber a page that had 2 slide controls that would control the
backlight on batteries and Ext. power. Now I can't find it. I am wondering if it is gone or I am just looking in the wrong place ? I thought it was in "Settings" -
"backlight" but all I see now is some boxs to check for how long the light stays on.

You will find it if you go to start>settings>backlight>brightness tab!

I don't see a "brightness" tab anymore. Just "battery power" and "external power" Am I looking in the wrong place ?

I don't know why you are not seeing the setting there. Maybe a soft reset is in order, but here is a screen shot from my M5.

Now I have the same problem as Mr. bill.moulton mentioned. "No brightness tab" ! Soft reset does not save the condition. Anyone knows how to recover this problem ?

Finally, I could solve this problem by executing "Hard reset".
