Lets keep this subject going too.

    Well, anywhoo...
I ordered the V.7 disc on 7/31. I'm getting the same ship date, 8/15.
I had RMAed my iQue back in July 04, so I got the V.6 for free (much to my surprise). Still, to get ALL of the United States street detail and POIs for $75? Can't beat that anywhere.
A new Thomas Bros. mapbook for just my county (San Diego, CA) can cost $20. Just for the county. In a huge book I would have to lug around... instead of a small pda which fits in a small pouch on my belt.

I know you are talking about the US V7 update... I RMA'd my unit just as the European V7 came out, to my surprise I had the latest V6 sent back to me with my new unit, for a laugh I tried updating to the new V7 and got that for free too!!...More than impressed with Garmin..

Sorry. I sit corrected. I should of been more clear on the U.S. part. Trying to change thread name...if it can be done.
Trying new typeface "comic Sans MS" Italics too. Color also. Cool!

I seem to remember that the V.6 (US) could be bought for $150 for a non previous user. That is still a great deal if true for V.7 (US).

It seems that if you get a new unit, under an RMA, then when you register the new unit, that's what counts as the date of purchase. So if they replace your iQue about once a year, you get new maps about once a year.

Perhaps a way for them to compensate you for the trouble you had sending the unit in for repair.

Ha, I just noticed to the right that I'm a "newbie"! Makes me feel young again!!

Good to see you here Anders! Did you notice that the new "EEK" emoticon looks just like Bokkie's avatar?

hummm, i wonder if my wife's will allow the same thing? she just got an RMA with a new code, wonder if it will allow her to update for $0?

I have to update my iQue and GPS10, so that'll use up my 2 updates i believe. Would hate to have to pay another $75... if i didn't have to?
