Default Garmin Update, same user interface?

I have a Garmin that came installed in my 2009 Suzuki SX4 Crossover. I don't have the model handy, but I hope my question is easy to answer anyway.

As the SX4 Garmin was my first experience with GPS, and even my wife's, I wonder if a newer (lower end/cost) unit would have a user interface that would make it easy to transition from and between the Garmin units.

Hope, unlike Microsoft and Windows, Garmin updates its software/firmware in a way that it is easy for a user to transition to newer versions without having to learn all over again.

    Hi Jerry,

Garmin has a number of different interfaces across the various model lines. This is because there are a variety of uses, from in-car to outdoor/hiking/biking to boating, etc. The different form factors -- big screen, no buttons ... small screen, lots of buttons ... etc. -- and the different uses require different approaches to a usable interface.

I suspect that your in-car GPS will be very similar to Garmin's Nuvi models. There are many models in the Nuvi lineup. Your best bet is to take a look online at Garmin.com. You can see screenshots and feature lists. You can also compare features among various models in a nice table format.

I hope that helps. If you have specific questions just holler.
