    Default where are routes stored?

Sorry for a naive question, but where are routes stored on the 3600? And are they transferred when sync'd to the palm desktop?

    thanks.

The Routes are stored in internal memory in a file named
QueRouted_Qrte. The file does not appear to be stored on HotSink. I have many routes stored so I am not willing to do a Hard reset and test that out.

An interesting note on stored Routes. The Route path is stored, but the waypoints that created it are not. You can create a route, save it, then delete the waypoints used to create it. When you reactivate the saved route, the path is displayed and routed but the waypoints are not displayed.

ps. BackupBuddy DOES save and restore this file.

The routes are stored in a record in the non-volatile RAM memory. They are thus not visible as a file on the 3600. Hence they aren't saved neither by HotSync nor by any other backup software.
I don't remember the record name in the 3600. It probably is "Saved routes" or something similar. I don't have the 3600 with me either. In the 3600a, saved routes are handled by the Active route applications. Thus the routes are stored in a record with that name.

There's no way the user can back them up, unfortunately. I have for a long time requested that flight plans, made on a 3600a, should be possible to transfer to another 3600a, but not even that has happened.

Having just had a crash and restored by hardreset and BackupMan, I can say that all routes remain after a Hard reset.

Routes have to be re-calculated after updating the CitySelect versions or changing to CityNavigator.

I enclose screenshots of details of routes within the memory.

The screenshots you enclosed show details about the Routes application, which handles the stored routes in the iQue, not about the routes themselves.
They aren't lost on a hard reset, since such a reset restores RAM data to original state, but doesn't clear the non-vol RAM. Non-vol RAM is cleared separately, preferably by the NonVolUtil application, since it allows selective deletion of records in that memory.
There are then further GPS-related data in that part of the memory, which isn't cleared by NonVolUtil either.
