Trying to get SNSRCFG to see my GPS 10, but I cannot get past an "Error starting comm thread" error.

Motorola USB BT dongle, Widcomm drivers ("WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 4.0.1.2500"). COM ports 11 and 13 configured in the PC's BT config. When starting nRoute on the PC, it automagically connects to the GPS 10 on COM11 - even if the GPS 10 is not currently connected (i.e. I can watch the blue LED change blinking patterns as the connection is established).

SNSRCFG always gives me the above-mentioned error. I've tried the following scenarios:
* nRoute running, connected to GPS 10 (expected failure)
* nRoute not running, GPS 10 BT connection inactive (LED blinking "fast")
* nRoute not running, GPS 10 BT connected (LED blinking "slowly", Widcomm's "My Bluetooth Places" shows Garmin GPS 10 "Connected: COM11"
* All of the above after both power-cycling and re-pairing the GPS 10 with the PC.

When starting SNSRCFG, I select GPS 10 in "Set Base Model to...". Under Comm -> Setup, I select COM11 and "auto" baud rate (I've also played with COM13 and several manual rates).

I've tried SNSRCFG versions 2.90 and 3.00.

Along with nRoute on the PC, Que 2.90 on a PPC-6700 also works flawlessly.

According to nRoute, the GPS 10 is:
* Unit Type: GPS 10 software ver. 2.20 BT ver 2.10 764
* Software Version: 2.20

Have I missed a step somewhere? I swear this (SNSRCFG) was working at one time.

The only time I don't see the SNSRCFG "comm thread" error is if I select a COM port that a) exists and b) does not have anything connected to it.

EDIT: I do have the latest-and-greatest MapSource installed on the PC. It, like nRoute, has no problem talking to the GPS 10. It was installed long ago, before I "remember" SNSRCFG working.
