Risk board game for Palm? Freeware?
Any good freeware programs that emulate the Risk board game?
Worldwar was once available as freeware (v 0.9.5). I was so impresed with the programming that I decided to register version 1.1. Dumbly, I overwrote version 0.9.5.
Now I'm using two PDAs (one during the day and one at night) with different users names. Unlike some other publishers, Zagware doesn't provide a second reg code or even a discount on a second license.
I hate to pay full freight for something I'm only going to use from time to time-- and the game would never be played at the same time on the 2 devices!
Anyone know how to find ye old WorldWar 0.9.5 (or even 0.9.4)?
Or know of a good freeware (or very cheap, say under $7) Risk clone?

Say, we always enjoyed Stratego as kids... a wonderfully exciting, engrossing game. It'd be fun on the Palm.
I wonder if kids play board games any more?

Re: Risk board game for Palm? Freeware?
For us, it was Diplomacy, Risk, Avalon Hill board games, and poker in high school. In college, mostly poker.
Headcronie, thanks for looking. I dug up version 1 as well as 1.1, but not the earlier freeware. (Although I vaguely recall the first incarnation of 1 being freeware and then it changed!)
I just wish the publisher had been more forthcoming with a discount or freebie for a 2nd PDA. By the way, their forums are overrun with SPAM and foul-mouthed posts and porn come ons! It's really sad--there's obviously no control by the software developer--and it makes one even less interested in supporting them!
It's too bad as the program was well designed.

I saw this game, Planets 2, over on Palm Addict and thought of this thread. What do you think of this?
.
Planets 2 is a simple, additing game that plays similar to Risk.
This free version allows 2 players on 2 different maps.
Features:
- Smooth, hi-res graphics
- Simple, addicting gameplay
- Unlimited replay value
- Auto-save
- FREE!

Re: Risk board game for Palm? Freeware?
I tried this game OHD and I couldn't figure it out. I deleted it yesterday cuz I didn't wanna take the time to figure it out.
4 me, if I gotta put a lot of time in trying to understand the rules, it better be a very captivating game. This one wasn't such a game 4 me. Maybe it works 4 someone else.
BTW, I gotta a new commercial that has me ROTFL. U seen da the federline (THFKAMBS - The Husband Formerly Known As Mr. Britney Spears!) commercial? It aired during the SuperBowl. THFKAMBS has finally found his calling - "would U like fries with that? Thank You!"
Lakeside sitting by the Beachside!
Lakeside leaves da beach to offer prayers for the people of Haiti who have suffered immensely in the past year!
"Now if Geico had said that instead of 'it's so easy a caveman can use it,' I wouldn't be sitting here right now having an existential meltdown!"
Still holdin' on 2 his ole' reliable T3 even though he now uses a "Dri-OD" smartphone (I know, I know, it's pronounced "DROID"!!)

Re: Risk board game for Palm? Freeware?
I apologize that it was a bust, I saw the name of the game referenced and thought I'd share it in this thread. I've never played either game so I had no way of knowing if it was good or bad. Wish it had worked out for you.
As far as K-Fed goes...yes, I saw that commercial during the Super Bowl and because of it I seriously considered dropping Nationwide as my insurance carrier.
Yea...I think the whole "fries" thing is exactly where he should be.

Here's a little something for you....<OHD giggles> BUT WAIT....run and get your wife BEFORE you click on the link!
BACK ON TOPIC
Ok...sorry guys, NOW back to RISK. If I find anything else I'll bring it over. HOPEFULLY, it will be better next time, but I can't promise.
