Re: My favorite Palm games
When you get 'Not Enough Memory' Errors, it is usaully not a lack of Storage Memory but Dynamic Heap, and rarely DbCache (example's of low DbCache errors are: Blazer saying the page is to large, or Media saying it can't open or zoom in on a large image, flushing the DbCache will help these.)

Re: My favorite Palm games
For what its worth, I tried a soft reset and then after that the trial version of the program ran well. In fact it is a really amazing program...dare I say a lot more bang for $20 than a lot of the Astraware games. Not that the Astraware games are bad or lacking quality but this game just seems amazing in how well it simulates the real thing. I'm impressed!
So, if I was to go ahead and purchase it, due to the large size, would I be better off to install it on its own seperate card perhaps? Right now I keep all my games and extras on a 2 gig card and I still have 63% space left on it but I do have another 1 gig card free that I could dedicate to this game. Your thoughts?Palm TX, Acer Netbook, 8G 3rd gen Touch, and, of course, a Pom Dawg:

Re: My favorite Palm games
There are different software programs that can do this, Resco Explorer, OffFlush, Reset Doctor, and many more. But be Warned, some software programs use a more aggresive flush routine than others, and some peoples devices have been Rendered Unusable because of this. I can't say for certain what is cadusing your specific memory error, but I would guess Dynamic Heap and not DbCache. As mentioned, UDMH will increase your Heap by swapping stuff in and out of DbCache, which will give you more heap. There was a whole RTF document compiled at 1src.com (and posted in its Freeware Section), explaining different problems and solutions with NVFS and memory related stuff. I'll post you a link in a sec.

Here is the link to the doc: http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1761
It makes a good read for anyone who is not experienced with this stuff (and even fortpeople who are

Re: My favorite Palm games
Putting it on a card really shouldn't change anything. As someone said,it needs 3.5 MB of Dynamic Heap to run which is quite a lot. Read the RTF Doc, and you'll have a much better idea of how Palm memory managment works. I'm going to try it on my TX, and see how things go

Re: My favorite Palm games
3.5 megs is kind of high for Palms, the TX only has 4!!! (well actually 6, but 2 of that is always used).
