Dead screen (no tap)

The dreaded white foam was showing, creeping down my screen - so I tucked it back up again. Next time I turned the device on it was only occasionally allowing taps and next time it had stopped responding altogether. A hard reset has done nothing - so it looks like a return to Tosh and a few quid to repair.

Unless anyone has a suggestion - I'm wary about opening it up as by no means do I know what I'm doing - but if anyone can advise this is going to be the place to get the advice from.

Failing that - anyone know how much the repair is likely to be?

I suspect your white foam is still touching the screen. Here's what I'd do:

Take a business card and PUSH on the foam where it was coming out (likely the top right corner), push it really hard, harder than you think is necessary. Then give it a good hard shove again.

Mine was showing but not causing problems right after I bought it but it hasn't shown up since I gave it the shove.

I fall at your feet in thanks. Since shoving it back up I wasn't to keen to do that - but you gave me the will to do it - and it's worked! It's ever so slightly temperamental - a couple of times I've had to press a bit harder - but as far as I'm concerned it's cured!

That's saved me a few quid - always a Good Thing (similar to saving a few bucks but worth more!!!! ;-))
