Default help me breakout of align screen please.

    Hi All,

My E830 is a dream, so I'm giving my E805 to my son.

I just cleaned it, changed and recharged the battery and E805 starts up as new, then goes into aligning screen...

and doesnt matter how carefully I tap each corner, it always goes around and starts from the centre again.

Jeeeeeez, doesnt it sense that I've done this 2million times already!!! I could shoot the programmer for not putting any start over again options, or carry on.

Does ANYONE know how to breakout of this???

hard/soft reboot just starts all over again

    thanks

    george

I don't know of any way to break out of this. Apparently, your digitizer needs replacing/repairing, as the alignment program doesn't sense a properly aligned screen with your taps.

Either that, or maybe you have a screen protector that is not installed properly?

Have you checked for the infamous "white piece of plastic" in the upper right hand corner of the screen?

I was cleaning my screen the other day and pushed some debris into a crevice in the corner of the screen. At first, my digitizer was way off, and a hard reset/align screen wouldn't correct it, so I decided to see if the white plastic piece was there - nope. So I pushed a thin credit card into the corners and swiped it down each side. There must have been something in there, because afterward it was fine.

My son is close to throwing this in the dustbin!!

The e805 is out of warranty - does anyone know who I can get to fix this - ie a decent engineering service. I live in the UK but anywhere who are competent will do.

    thanks

If you used something that evaporates easily to clean the display, then i would try to blast it with either some compressed air or one of those duster cans you can buy at staples and such. Sometimes when i clean my screen, i accidentally get a little bit of cleaning solution on the side of my display where it seeps under and completely screws up the touch pad. I use a big blast of compressed air all in and around the device to dry it out and the thing has always recovered and worked great. To give it the best change of clearing the crap out of your device, i would take out all of the cards and battery so there is as much open areas as possible for air to flow. If the cleaning solution leavs a big residue or if it washed a bunch of dirt into your touchpad then you may have to have the touchpad replaced/cleaned buy taking apart the device.

    Default excellent

    hi

thanks for the post, your English is more than functional it is very good and easy to understand.

The four 'roads' I guess is to position/sense the four corners of the screen.

I will open my e805 and see if it looks like the same problem.

If so I too will go and look for someone who does small soldering and get it fixed.

    Great post, thanks.
