E800 and E830 VGA Experiance...Problems with E830 VGA

Hi, all.
I am using E830 now after I had E800. The only reason I had to go with E830 is the built-in bluetooth.
I think that the overall performance was better with E800, especially with VGA and reboot times.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I think I tried everything: SE_VGA, OZ_VGA. The applications I ran on E800 SE in VGA mode won't run properly on E830. E830 runs the application in full screen VGA, but the only active touch area is the top left quater of the display.

Same VGA setup as on E800. All handmark games like monopoly, War Inc won't run properly in VGA on E830!

I was trying Tweaks2k2, ResHacker to correct the executables. But then on the other hand why warfare Inc would install with no problem in VGA mode to E800 and won't to E830?

Does anyone know the next rom update ETA for e830?

I am very optimistic about E830. Please help

I believe the E800 you had didn't have the WM 2003 SE update applied, which explains the difference.

I used E800 both with update and without. I had no problems

I've been Considering buying an e830 For the Same reasons but have been reluctant to do it yet because I was Worried about having the same type of problem as you described.

Yep, problem makes me think to go back to E800. But I'm hoping to have rom update sometime soon from Toshiba which will let me use E830 to its full potential.

Dear Necser,

If you decide to sell your e830, I'm in the market for one. They are hard to get in California and I'd rather get a good deal on a used one than buy a new one.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I will still keep it and wait for ROM updates.

or get one from eBay for ~$350 USD

I checked www.officedepot.ca and can't even find the e830, just an e800 for $549

Sorry... you may wish to check your local stores... in the Vancouver area... it was in the flyer for this week... I picked one up this morning... and returned my other one.
