    Default Battery

Been haveing my E800 for about 8 months. I've noticed over the past couple weeks my battery hasn't been holding up. I do use it everyday & woundering if charging it all the time has something to do with that. Any body else have that problem?

Mine never makes it to 100% charge any more. It gets to 99 but never 100%. This indicates to me something is amiss.

It still works just fine and it does not seem to get any worse but I am keeping an eye on it.

Charging it all the time should not harm it. Acutally it has been my experience that it you keep rechargables on the charge while not using them makes them last longer. That was especially true with older nicads. And these newer Lithium Ion batteries should be less sensitive.

I have an extra battery just in case.

I had a similiar issues, but just after 2mos. It would fully charge, but then it would immediately drain. I'm talking 100% to 40% in less than an hour.

I took out the battery and cleaned the connectors on the battery and on the pda. This solved my problem.

    Maybe you can try that?

    Default Li-ion/Li-polymer batteries

Unlike older battery technologies (esp Ni-Cad) Li-ion/polymer batteries can be damaged by a complete discharge. They will maintain their greatest charge holding capability if they are topped up often, rather than the old discharge->recharge cycle used on older cells (to avoid the dreaded 'memory effect' where a cell would lose the ability to use part of it's capacity if it was never tapped). One side effect of performing a majority discharge can be that the calibration of the device can get a little out of skew (reporting the wrong level of charge remaining) but the battery itself will be in better health. Hope this info helps
